Getting started
Install and your first seal in five minutes.
From the purchase email to a sealed deliverable. Nothing below touches a server, because there is no server.
- 01Download the zip from the link in your purchase email. It arrives signed; the email carries the SHA-256, and checking it is one command before you unzip anything.
- 02Unzip it anywhere you like. A folder on your desktop is fine. There is no installer and nothing phones home.
- 03Double-click START WORK RECEIPTS. The same folder works on Mac and Windows.
- 04The app opens in your browser, on your machine. No account, no sign-in. Your signing key is created on your device the first time you open it; we never see it.
- 05Fill the certification form, the tools you used, the role AI played, and your review, over your name.
- 06Drop the deliverable onto the app. The document is fingerprinted on your machine; the text never leaves your computer.
- 07Three items appear: the receipt panel in the app, a .receipt.json file beside your document, and a ready paragraph to paste into the client email.
Troubleshooting
The questions that come back.
I am moving to a new machine.
Install the app on the new machine and a new key is created there on first open, in the operating system’s own secure store. Your old receipts stay valid forever: each carries its own public half inside it, so verification never depends on the old machine, the old key, or us. Keep the .receipt.json files beside the matters they belong to, as you already do.
Can I work offline?
Yes. Everything works offline: the form, the sealing, the ledger. What changes is the time. Online, the record’s time is witnessed by an independent timestamp authority under RFC 3161. Offline, the record still seals, and its time is marked self-asserted instead of witnessed. The receipt says which, on its face.
What happens when I cancel?
Nothing, to your receipts. Every receipt you have already made stays valid and verifiable forever, because verification needs no account, no subscription, and no contact with us. The app stops making new ones. Cancel whenever; the record outlives the subscription.
Where do my records live?
On your machine, twice: the .receipt.json beside the matter it belongs to, and a sealed copy chained into the local ledger, so a missing or altered entry shows. Nothing is in any cloud, because there is no cloud.
Mac and Windows?
Both. The same download works on Mac and Windows; double-click START WORK RECEIPTS on either. A receipt made on one verifies on the other, and anywhere else, because verification is a property of the cryptography, not of the machine.
A receipt shows TAMPERED. What do I do?
The sealed file changed after sealing, by as little as a byte. Re-seal the current version so the record matches the document you now stand behind. The seal did its job: it told you the document in front of you is not the document you sealed. Tamper-evident, not tamper-proof, that is the point.
The commitment
Same day, in writing, from a person.
Every message to hello@regulayer.com gets a written reply from a person, the same day. If the answer needs a fix, you get the answer first and the fix after. We answer in writing so you can keep the answer.
