What the statute requires, section by section

Utah's generative-AI consumer-disclosure duties are codified at Utah Code Title 13, Chapter 77 ("Generative Artificial Intelligence, Consumer Disclosures and Enforcement"), enacted by Chapter 465, 2025 General Session (effective 2025-05-07). These duties were originally introduced by the Utah Artificial Intelligence Policy Act (S.B. 149, 2024, Title 13, Chapter 72) and were restructured into Chapter 77 in 2025; the AI Policy Act / Office of AI Policy provisions remain in Chapters 72/74. Provisions addressed, mapped from the per-decision signed record:

Utah Code §13-77-101: Definitions (generative artificial intelligence; high-risk artificial intelligence interaction; regulated occupation).
Utah Code §13-77-103(1): A supplier using generative AI in a consumer transaction shall disclose that the individual is interacting with generative AI, if the individual asks/prompts.
Utah Code §13-77-103(2): An individual in a regulated occupation shall prominently disclose generative-AI use where it constitutes a high-risk AI interaction.
Utah Code §13-77-103(3): Timing: disclosure verbally at the start of a verbal interaction; in writing before a written interaction.
Utah Code §13-77-104: Safe harbor (clear and conspicuous disclosure that the interaction is with generative AI).
Utah Code §13-77-105: Enforcement by the Division of Consumer Protection.
