What the statute requires, section by section

Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP / nFADP / nLPD) of 25 September 2020, SR 235.1, in force 1 September 2023. Provisions addressed:

Art. 8: Data security (security appropriate to the risk).
Art. 12: Register / record of processing activities.
Art. 24: Notification of a data security breach to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) "as soon as possible" where the breach is likely to result in a high risk to the data subject.
Art. 21: Automated individual decisions (duty to inform; right to human review where the decision has legal effect or significantly affects them).
