What the statute requires, section by section

Nebraska Data Privacy Act (NDPA), Neb. Rev. Stat. sections 87-1101 to 87-1130 (enacted by Laws 2024, LB 1074). Provisions addressed:

§ 87-1112
Controller requirements on collection and use; data minimization (collection limited to adequate, relevant, reasonably necessary); reasonable administrative, technical and physical data security; non-discrimination.
§ 87-1108
Controller response to a consumer request within 45 days (one 45-day extension).
§ 87-1116
Data protection assessment for heightened-risk processing; confidentiality. Effective 1 January 2025.
