What the statute requires, section by section

Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (the "AI Act"):

When these obligations apply. Regulation (EU) 2026/1744, the Digital Omnibus on AI, entered into force on 27 July 2026 and deferred the application of Chapter III to 2 December 2027 for high-risk systems under Annex III and 2 August 2028 for high-risk systems under Annex I. The original date was 2 August 2026. Articles 9, 13, 14 and 15 sit inside that deferral.

Article 9
Risk management system: establishment, implementation, documentation and maintenance of a risk management system for high-risk AI systems, run as a continuous iterative process.
Article 14
Human oversight: high-risk AI systems shall be designed so they can be effectively overseen by natural persons, including the ability to intervene or interrupt (a "stop" / safe state).
Article 15
Accuracy, robustness and cybersecurity: appropriate levels and consistent performance throughout the lifecycle, with resilience against errors and unauthorized alteration.
Article 13
Transparency and provision of information to deployers: high-risk
AI systems shall be accompanied by information identifying the provider and the system's characteristics, enabling deployers to interpret and use the output.
