Ley de Protección de los Datos Personales No. 25.326 (Argentina), sanctioned 4 October 2000. Implementing regulation: Decreto 1558/2001. Regulator: the AAIP (Agencia de Acceso a la Información Pública). Provisions addressed:

Art. 9: Seguridad de los datos (data security): technical and organisational measures to guarantee security and confidentiality, preventing adulteration, loss, or unauthorised consultation/processing.
Art. 10: Deber de confidencialidad (duty of confidentiality / professional secrecy).
Art. 14: Derecho de acceso (right of access).
Art. 16: Derecho de rectificación, actualización o supresión.
Art. 21: Registro de archivos de datos (registration of databases with the control authority). Law 25.326 remains operative (a reform bill has been discussed but not enacted).
