What the statute requires, section by section

Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 on machinery, repealing Directive 2006/42/EC. Applies from 20 January 2027. Provisions addressed:

Annex III
Essential health and safety requirements (EHSRs). Point 1.2.1 (control systems) requires safe and reliable behaviour, including withstanding reasonably foreseeable malicious attempts by third parties that would lead to a hazardous situation, and reliable behaviour where software is involved (safety-relevant logging / corruption detection sit here).
Annex IV
Technical documentation (the technical file content).
Annex V
EU declaration of conformity.
Manufacturer obligations
draw up Annex IV technical documentation, carry out the conformity-assessment procedure, and keep the documentation and declaration of conformity available to authorities for at least 10 years. SECTION-NUMBER NOTE: the Annex references above are confirmed against EUR-Lex; the specific article numbers for "obligations of manufacturers" and the "conformity- assessment procedure" (commonly cited as Art. 10 and Art. 25) should be confirmed against the consolidated text before being relied on.
